Southeastern has contracted Corys T.E.S.S. to supply the Class 395 simulator for the new UK high-speed domestic rail service.
The simulator will form an integral part of proving high-speed commuter services between London St Pancras, Ashford and the Kent coast in December 2009 in addition to transporting spectators for London’s 2012 Olympic Games. The Class 395 simulator will be used for traction training and ongoing competence assessment of train driver managers and train drivers for the new fleet of six-car Hitachi Electrical Multiple Units. The contract also includes seven hours of computer-based training on the new rolling stock, the classic and high-speed lines.
