CONRAC GmbH, specialising in the development of high-end displays and display systems, and Imago Group plc, Europe’s largest video communications distributor, have joined forces to deliver a unique and highly flexible passenger information solution
CONRAC, expert in Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS) with installations in more than 60 countries, combines high performance screens with a complete hardware and software solution to control the display of information.
Imago is a Master Distributor of the StationsTripleplay VIPtv family of products, a comprehensive range of software that delivers IPTV (high quality, multi-channel TV over Intranets), Video on Demand and High Definition Digital Signage.
As a result of the collaboration between CONRAC and Imago, a new, powerful and unique solution will provide a high-quality screen, full information management, and the facility to broadcast live TV, stream-recorded video, such as advertising, and display digital signage. This Passenger Information Display System with a fully integrated IPTV solution is the first of its kind on the market.
“This is a real breakthrough for the passenger information display system market,” said Peter Nice, head of new business development at Imago. “The development of the PIDS technology now enables the screens to show video content in addition to travel information, and because the displays are of such a superior specification, the quality of the picture – whether it is live TV or streamed video – is of the highest resolution and clarity.”
Walter Hammel, managing director, CONRAC, said: “The addition of Tripleplay technology to our own solution provides our customers with a wealth of options, in terms of displaying innovative content. The new solution is extremely reliable, and has been proven to deliver 24/7 without interruption, which is vital in airport or travel termini locations.”
