The visitor attendance figures for Railtex 2009 – which took place at Earls Court Two in London from 10 -12 March – underline the widely acknowledged success of the latest edition of the UK’s premier rail event.
A total of 8257 rail industry professionals from 47 countries visited Railtex 2009 – a substantial increase of 22 per cent compared to the number attending the previous show in 2007.
The three-day show was a very busy and vibrant meeting place for rail professionals from right across the UK and overseas. Of these, some
62 per cent were of manager level or above. When exhibitors’ stand personnel are added to visitors attending, the number of industry participants at the show rises to 10,730.
Exhibitors totalled 373 from 18 countries and included leading suppliers covering all sectors of railway technology. Among organisations with a major stand presence were the Department for Transport and Network Rail. In collaboration with Corus, sections of track in the exhibition hall were also provided to enhance the display of rail-mounted equipment and products.
