There’s plenty of fencing in Coopers Fencing Contractors Ltd – the company’s 30th anniversary year sees it expanding

Exciting times are ahead for the Hockley, Birmingham, business as it prepares to increase its services from a very satisfied, mainly commercial base, to the domestic market. It’s now preparing a second site, to satisfy demand from the general public, which is due to open later in the year.

Until now Coopers has used the Watery Lane site in Bordesley as a storage area. Managing director Laura Cooper says it is ideal for the company’s plans to grow the business and offer an even greater level of service by opening the second site to the general public.

“We are aiming to provide high-quality posts and panels at affordable prices,” she says. “In this economic climate some people can’t afford to have fencing erected and so look to do it themselves.

“While we, of course, can provide that expert erection service, if they want to put up their own, our new site will provide the best in fencing that they will need. Mohammed Tanveer, works manager, will be on hand to give them help and advice and guide them to the products that will best suit their requirements.

“Trade customers will also be welcome.” Unlike the fencing, installed by the
18-strong workforce rich in the expertise, skills and competence to carry out their roles, it’s been impossible to contain the success of this family-run business.

Coopers Fencing was established in 1981 by Laura’s father Steve who started up with no more than a small van and essential tools doing small garden jobs.

Today the company enjoys an extensive client base, primarily in the commercial sector, and works nationally for demolition and construction contractors, schools, housing associations, NHS, local authorities and airports.

Prestigious clients include DSM demolition, Colemans & Co and Armac but, be it a large or small customer, Coopers Fencing ensures everyone receives the same top-notch attention.

“We pride ourselves on offering an excellent service to all our clients,” emphasises Laura.

With all staff fully trained to NVQ Level 2 and holding CSCS cards as a minimum with on-going training to meet health and safety legislation, clients are assured that everyone is up to date with the latest industry requirements and can undertake all nature of fencing projects.

Along with being fabrication specialists, Coopers Fencing can offer:
  • Timber hoarding
  • Palisade
  • Chain link
  • Trip rail
  • Closeboard
  • Panel
  • Post and rail
  • Temporary fencing
  • Bollards
“You name it and we’ll do it!” declares Laura with a smile.
